Oh how wonderful it would be to be off of work today! It is currently 63 degrees and partly cloudy here in Dallas and it is fabulous! These are the kind of days that I love! There is something about fall that I get all excited about...I like the crispness in the air, getting to pull out winter clothes and mostly the nearness of the holidays. Holidays in my family have always been a big deal. Thanksgiving is all about making everyone's favorite dishes and stuffing yourself into laziness for the rest of the day. The game is always on but we are usually sleeping instead of watching it... Christmas is never about getting the gifts, it is about giving them. It has always been so much fun trying to find the perfect gift for those special people in my life. Last year Joe and I stayed at my parents on Christmas Eve and opened gifts with my family Christmas morning...it was nice. I think that Jen and I were the first ones up this last year, we were like little kids full of anticipation! Mom usually makes a quiche for breakfast and then all of my mom's family that live here in the metroplex come over for lunch. (my mom has 5 siblings so there is always lots of family at holidays)I just realized...there is only 64 days left until Christmas and I haven't bought a single gift!
So last night we went to dinner for my Grandpa & Grandma King's anniversary. It was nice to get to celebrate with them. My mom had invited some of my grandparent's friends and they didn't know about it, it was a nice surprise for grandpa and grandma. I took some pics and I will try to get those uploaded this weekend. Sunday Joe is helping Nick move and we may try to do some shopping.
So that is it for now. Have a great weekend!
